Its a Friday night here in Kansas City, and I am penning down my recap of the Friday night runway shows of Kansas City Fashion Week FW'21! Although KCFW extends over the weekend, Friday was the last night I had attended this season. Sorry for the late post, but this has been sitting in drafts for some time now. Finally Hit Publish! Lets start shall we.
Gracie Key Designs kickstarted Friday night's runway shows at KCFW with her edgy ready-to-wear line. She brings about affordability and sustainability while creating her high-fashion pieces
Kerrie Aaron, creative of KLOTHED:31, is an Arkansas native who grew up in a Christian home where there were restrictions on attire. The play of silhouettes and textures really create a statement for Klothed31. She proves that not only can high fashion and modesty walk together, but a balance can be struck between monochromes and Fall tones.
Annette Sunshine Designs was the third designer of the evening. Annette has a remarkable skill for designing for all body types and has a passion for fabrics. She proves that its all in the details. Whether its the play of leather and lace, or the statement sleeves. Annette Sunshine Designs clearly knew how to create drama on the runway.
Olha Potapenko and Tatiana Yanchenko have been partners in the fashion industry since 2005. Together they built the brand Potapenko & Yanchenko. They create the dreamiest of wedding gown or evening gowns. Lace on lace can be so beautiful and so versatile - one only knows after having watched a collection by this duo.
Cue the collective Awws! Jill Marie Boutique created the cutest outfits for the lil ones! And she moved on from kidswear to Kansas City Love in her signature stride!
Drumroll please! It was time for one of my favorite KCFW designers - TR Brown Fashions! Tiffany Brown has a way with telling a story through fabric like very few. She is KCFW veteran, and always knows how to take the crowd by storm ,with her ready to wear line! I think I will take one of each, Tiffany, what say!
Jo Hartley of Little Jo Designs is not only an amazing photographer, but also a wonderful fashion designer And above all, a wonderful person, inside out! She creates a love story with tulle, and you are left awestruck. We love you Jo!
Jennifer Tierney with her ready to wear line Jeanne Nuage created a statement that fashion should not come at the price of comfort! Whether you love monochromes or whether you love color, Jennifer has you covered. Her outfits scream romance! Yes, I said that right, romance in a ready to wear line. Give me all the romance and all the drop waists Jennifer!
Statement jewelry by Rissa's Artistic Design was next on the runway! Clarissa is known for her earthy and edgy designs and of course, the sustainable use of raw materials. The latest collection of hers, was inspired by Armor!
Last but not the least, the finale collection was by Nokota Style by Tonya Pesch and KCFW's photography director, Jason Atherton. This creative collab was surely one for the books, especially the re-interpretation of monochromes for the runway!
