PRETTY POSY BOUTIQUE : SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Small Business Saturday Shopping at The Pretty Posy KC boutique. The holiday season can be tempting with all the deals from the big box stores. Yes, I know the Small Businesses cannot compete with those deals. But when you shop small, you contribute to the local economy. You contribute to a family's happiness - a family that has worked hard to keep that small business running. Also how cute is this dried floral arrangement from Brittany Blooms KC, who is another local small business.

What is Small Business Saturday? As a marketer, this rings close. Ithe midst of the recession in 2010 American Express created Small Business Saturday on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to encourage people to Shop Small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses. Shopping Small adds up to big things - no, this is not sponsored by American Express. This is just true.

Tried on some outfits, to get ready for the holiday season. Which outfit do you think came home with me? The Pretty Posy KC  in downtown Overland Park, is clearly one of my favorite boutiques to shop from, in KC. I love how I can find outfit pieces that fit my petite mom bod. For instance, I had been on the hunt for a good mini skirt for some time. And I have tried my fair share. But none fit me as well, like this number from The Pretty Posy

The new arrivals in Pretty Posy are so wonderful. I was spoilt for choice on what I tried on. To be honest, I wanted to try on everything. From the holiday sweaters, to the season's hottest denim trends, to the sparkly numbers to the accessories, they had it covered.
These holiday lounge wear sets deserve their own mention and deserve to be in a Holiday Hall of Fame. One might be on my next shopping list

When you shop from small businesses, you know someone has taken the pain to go to markets and scope out items that fit real bodies like yours- not airbrushed bodies! The Pretty Posy KC is a female-owned, local small business. So win-win, right! Owner, Erin(pictured with me) is a wonderful person, who will make sure you have a personalized shopping experience. Make sure you support small, support local, as much as you can.

SMALL BUSINESS WEEK AT WALDO

Small Business Week continues in Waldo, till December 3. Over 20 small businesses have your holiday shopping covered. Not only do you feel good about supporting local businesses while checking off your holiday shopping list But you Also receive a free gift when you spend more than $50 in the District.

We started our Small Business Crawl with Hiles Two. From ornaments to holiday gifts for everyone, from children's books to children's clothes, loved the collection. As a mom, I am always on the hunt for special gifts for Rii, now I can add a favorite shopping spot to my list. The sheer joy of Rii as she browsed through everything said it all.
I could spend all day looking at all ornaments. For all of you Schitts Creek fans, they have something special which you shouldn't miss.

While there was so much for Rii, there were also quite a few special things for mommy, too!
Our second stop was at Hawthorne and Ivy! They have so many picks for the Chiefs fans who like to keep it stylist. I had so much fun trying on dresses, and deciding on my next game day look. Also once you are there, don't miss the $5 table when it comes to home decor, or the $10 rack when it comes to clothes.
Also loads of options for stocking stuffers.

Our third stop for the Small Business Crawl was Eclectic Gifts Gallery! True to its name, there were quite an eclectic collection fo gifts. From porch decor, to sterling silver jewelry, from holistic healing options, to cheesy holiday cards, the items brought a smile to your face.

Our 4th stop on the Small Business Crawl in Waldo wad K9 Closet. If you know me, when you know I love to shop for Blaze and I love to support local businesses. K9 Closet had a really impressive collection of collars - from holiday chic to even Harry Potter! Sweet Treats for pets, to sweaters and jackets to even Advent Calendars for your furry babies, it was a pet lover's treat shopping at K9 closet.

It was time for lunch and we were spot for choice with so many great options. Daddy wanted a ramen bowl at Boru Asian and Rii wanted Pizza from Waldo Pizza. Seems like daddy won the round for lunch and Rii for dinner. Boru is a family favorite of hers, so Rii enjoyed her dumplings, while I had a bulgogi bowl.

So it was takeout from Waldo Pizza for dinner!

Let but not the least, I needed a caffeine fix at my favorite - Crows Coffee! A coconut milk latte to end a wonderful day of supporting small in Waldo.

SUMMER MOON KC: HOLIDAY COFFEE

Holiday sweaters and Holiday Brews are such a vibe, aren't they! We had a great time tasting the holiday brews from Summer Moon KC, and sporting our holiday knits. When it comes to holiday sweaters, I know ugly sweaters work for me. When it comes to me, I am more of a fair isle kinda person.

Coming back to all things coffee, Summer Moon KC has three special Holiday Brews - Peppermint Moon, Autumn Moon and Cider Moon. While the first two are available caffeinated or decaf, the Cider Moon has no caffeine. It is made up of Cider, Moon Milk and Cinnamon. I tasted all three, and tell you that it was hard to pick favorites!

Summer Moon Coffee are known for their wood fired coffee and Moon Like, which is their signature sweet cream. If you haven't yet tried Moon Milk, I can tell you that its amazing by itself.
We had Dipped Ginger Molasses from Scratch Bakery KC and Gluten Free Holiday Cookies by Emily Kate's Bakery to get us further into the festive spirit!

Thank you Summer Moon KC for such a wonderful time, and a wonderful Holiday gift! Cant wait to brew my batch of Summer Moon coffee at home, and take it in my new travel mug, to work, every morning! Happy Holiday!
