The last Fashion Week I covered in person was in March 2019. Life threw a few curveballs, as most of you know, and I was away. Got a sneak peek of what’s coming up this season at Kansas City Fashion Week with a media night at Diamonds Direct, in Leawood, Kansas. From designer previews to trying on Diamond Rings, it was the perfect Mom’s Night Out. The runway shows start today and they will be outdoors, at Oak Park Mall. Tickets are still available on KCFW's website - so join me as we scope out the runway trends together!
It's always tricky to decide what to wear to fashion week, especially if you are going back after a few years. I am a denim person out and out, so had to pay an ode to that. It had to be a Denim-centric outfit but had to make it fashion week reday. More details on the next outfit post on the blog.
KCFW shall be hosting its runway shows in a covered parking lot, in Oak Park Mall, Kansas, which has been a longtime sponsor. I am double vaxxed, but it's more reassuring, when it's an outdoor event, personally for me. It is not crazy cold neither crazy hot in KC now, so that makes it perfect for an outdoor runway show.
It was really nice to catch up with the designers before the frenzy of runway shows began. A few of the designers who previewed their looks that evening were Rissa's Artistic Design, who creates the most amazing statement jewelry. The inspiration of Clarissa this season, is Armour.
Next was designer Jo Hartley and her line - Little Jo Designs. Jo is a KCFW veteran who is not only a fabulous photographer but now a seasoned designer. If you saw the bejeweled outfit, you would realize how many hours it takes to create a work of art, like that.
Pamela Lucas of House of Pamela Rene wowed us with their play of monochromes, and straight lines! And what KCFW event is complete without sharing smiles with your favorite influencer babes, and KCFW Team!
Diamonds Direct in Leawood was so gracious to host us all at the media night! So took the opportunity, to try on an Eternity Band, which has been on my wishlist for so long.
So excited to be back to covering runway shows again, and scoping out trends! Stay tuned to the blog for all things fashion week.
