If you are looking for an absolute food fest in Kansas City, then you have to head to Atomic Cowboy. There’s a reason why the experts at Food Network recommend them! Atomic Cowboy opened in Westport during the pandemic and recently celebrated its one-year anniversary.
Atomic Provisions’ Kansas City location is housed in the Historic City Ice Building on the south side of the Westport neighborhood. Love the contrast the decor creates - the limestone walls, the timber, with the eclectic neon signs! Four different concepts under one roof! Biscuit Sandwiches from Denver Biscuit Co, New York-style pizza from Fat Sully's Pizza soft-serve ice cream from Frozen Gold. I know I have featured my fair share of food halls, but Atomic Cowboy is different. Your server takes care of your entire food order and also your craft cocktails. Now that’s a first for KC!
The Kansas City location is the first one outside of Colorado! It was really fun to meet owner Drew Shader, and discuss all things food. For instance, most foodies are familiar with the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives episode where Guy Fieri heads to Atomic Provisions. The southern-style gourmet biscuit sandwich Franklin was featured on the show, and I knew I had to try that first. Buttermilk fried chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese smothered in housemade sausage gravy or vegetarian mushroom gravy.
If Franklin is already a TV star, then Lola is a start contender herself. Another gourmet biscuit sandwich - buttermilk fried chicken, bacon, housemade honey butter, covered in maple syrup. If this wasn't enough, then you can sub your biscuit with a biscuit french toast.
If Denver Biscuit Co is their breakfast spot, then Atomic Cowboy is primarily a nighttime bar that is well-known for its craft cocktails and selection of beer. I opted for their Breakfast Sangria and my husband opted for their Elderflower Drop.
Garlic parmesan chicken wings loaded fries and smash burgers add to the mix!
Pizza slices the size of your face, from Fat Sully's pizza! Who doesn't love a good New York-style pizza! You can either opt for pizza by the slice or a 26-inch pie.
If you have a sweet tooth, then the Dessert Knots tossed in Oreos is a must-have.
Frozen Gold serves gourmet soft-serve ice cream with flavorful, unique specialty toppings. I opted for Basic B- vanilla soft-serve, sea salt caramel, and chocolate dip. My daughter opted for Cookie Crumbles- vanilla soft serve, Oreo crumbs, chocolate chip cookies crumbs, brown sugar fudge softcore. My husband opted for Thick Mint-chocolate soft serve, Andes mint, chocolate crumble, brown sugar softcore.
When you are planning a trip to Atomic Cowboy, make sure you arrive hungrily! And might I recommend pants with an elastic waistband! I know I am doing just that when I head there next with my crew!
