It is one month of a brand new school year for Rii! Yes, one month of a virtual school. One month of us learning to remember class times, setting multiple alarms on our devices, and rolling through it. One month of Riona enjoying it all, working on math problems on a certain app, and being vocal in her reading group and so much more. It has been a work in progress for sure, but I am so proud of Rii for all the way she has adapted herself and her mode of learning. So in honor of her completing a month of virtual school, I was looking for a special gift for her.
Crayon Letters KC seemed like the perfect choice. Not only was it a local small business, but it was a woman-owned small business. It was started by Amanda Mertel, a former high school teacher who decided to dabble in her creative side, during COVID. She was trying to find fun activities for her boys, and she came across crayon letters. her boys were not only coloring with them, but also using them to specialize in the alphabet, work on numbers, and so much more. She realized that she enjoyed making them, her boys enjoyed them, and her husband and friends encouraged her to make them for others.
So it was a win-win. I was not only supporting a local maker but also picking up something which my daughter would live. Rii loves crayons, unicorns, and all things bright. I came across Crayon Letters KC on Instagram and wanted to work with her. Many of my readers are local moms, and I wanted to make sure they knew of these fun products that Amanda makes.
The pictures don't do justice as to how excited Riona was when she received her gift. She loved the colors, the crayon letters, and the unicorn. Rii is a second-grader and loves playing scrabble. She was instantly trying to show us, how many words she could make with the letters used in her name.
You can order Crayon Letters online, and choose from Clark (the bigger font) and Luke(the smaller font), and your choice of colors. Amanda also does numbers and various shapes. She also lots of fun options for Halloween and the upcoming Holiday season. go ahead and support a local maker if you are looking for some unique gifts for the cuties in your life!
Disclaimer: This was a gift, but the opinions are those of my own!
