KCFW SS'19 GARDEN PARTY - A RECAP

A bright sunny day, mimosas by the pool, Grammy award-winning piano recital, and all things Fashion. KCFW knows how to party in style. It kickstarted its Spring Summer'19 with an amazing garden party! This was the third garden party hosted by Kansas City Fashion Week, and I must add that it was truly a great start to a brand new season of fashion.
It was my first outing after my surgery, and I cannot tell you how I was looking forward to it. KCFW is after all one of my favorite events of the year. It's great to connect with some of the best creatives in town. While the last two annual garden parties were at the Van Noy mansion, this year the venue moved to  Dunford Circle. It was sponsored by the Koehler-Bortnick Team. The garden, the pool, the home itself, one could go on and on. While I love all things modern, when it comes to my choice of homes, such a location can even make my choices change for something more vintage.

Guests enjoyed hanging out by the pool, as the Midwestern sun shone brightly on a Fall afternoon. Bloody Mary by Tom's Town and Mimosas by Cooper's Hawk were free-flowing. Sadly, I had to miss all of that and settle down for Grapefruit juice, as I had just had surgery a few days back. But I was happy with the fact that I could still be a part of it. Small bites were available from Pro. Covered Inc, for the guests to nibble on, as they chatted away poolside.

I had worn my Fall Florals for the party. If you wanted to know more about my outfit for the day, then Click Here.
A performance by 5X Grammy Award Winning singer, composer, and songwriter was clearly the piece-de-resistance of the afternoon.

Fashion Week helping fashion week. Kansas City Fashion Week, along with Kansas City Fashion Council would be raising money for the designers and members of Charlotte Fashion Week, following the devastations brought on by hurricane Florence. In addition, KCFW's featured designer Rachel Roy had graciously offered to donate 20% of the proceeds from her pop-up store to help our fellow fashion communities in need. So proud of KCFW!

Needless to say, that it is always a pleasure to hang out with some of the best souls in KC. Some old faces, some known faces, and some new faces, who joined in and smiled together, to kick-start the 14th season of Kansas City Fashion Week.

Thank you, Teresa Maly. Antonia MartinAtherton Photo, Larry F Levenson Photography and David Bram Photography for capturing some beautiful photographs of mine at the event. All other pictures are taken by me.
