And we are back with another round of Kansas City Fashion Week Recaps on the Blog. Thursday Night of KCFW is a night of collaborations. This season KCFW partnered with Kansas City Chiefs to bring forth Style Lounge. Besides the regular runway shows featuring a bevy of designers, there were three shows featuring Chiefs apparel, as seen by the local Designers. As I mentioned earlier, the evening featured a round of Style Challenge, so I indulged in some Style Challenge myself when it came to outfit planning for the evening. Fashion Week is such a good time to catch up with everyone and anyone on the Fashion circuit. Its always great bumping into Designer Michael Drummond. He was showing his latest collection, the next evening, and we got talking about fashion and much more.

The evening began with Kansas City Chiefs spirit wear from KC Garment District Boutique and Dillards, showcased by Chiefs former and current cheerleaders, and some former players. Heads were surely turning, I must say.
The first designer to take the runway was Jewellery Designer Georgina Herrera. Loved how she had a great variety , from subtle pendants and bracelets to the boss of all statement necklaces , as her show stopper. The all black ensembles sported by her models struck a chord with one and all. I received a couple of bracelets from the designer in my VIP goody bag, and I cant wait to wear them soon.
The second deisgner of the night was Keefe Cravat. I remember attending his showcase last season, and it was good to see his debut on the KCFW. If custom neckwear for your man, is on your shopping list for the holdays, then you know which designer to shop from.
It was time for the Chiefs Designer Challenge of the evening featuring a $1000 prize. Kansas City designers each created their own version of spirit wear for the KC Chiefs. Designer Alicia Janesko and her model clearly know how to slay the runway.
Capes are in, we all know that. It was evident in the Style/Design Challenge too.
The second half of runway shows began with Roger Figueroa. My favorite look from the entire, had to be this yellow jumpsuit, with a cape. Can I lease get it in my size? It was everything, that you look in a perfect outfit and it had Spring - Summer written all over it.
His collection was very well structured, and I loved his play of colors and lines.
Leather, cutouts, tassles stood out in Barbara Bultman's collection. She was inspired by natural energy resources in creating this collection. Her collection was edgy with a great aesthetic appeal .
The finale designer was KCFW favorite Kiana Godsey. I have seen a few of her shows earlier and she is a crowd favorite. Her collection proved why it deserved to be the finale collection. It was awe inspiring in every way. Playing with a fabric like brocade, can be tricky, if not done well. It can look like your grandma's curtains. But Kiana Godsey nailed it with her super structured collection.
Another round of Chief's spirit wear and an impromptu dance gig .And it was a wrap of Thursday night.
