KCFW FW ' 16 "BUBBLY AND BOWTIES" - RECAP

Dressed to the nines, I headed to Counter Point, in the Crossroads Art District, downtown, for Kansas City Fashion Week's Kick Off Party , aptly called 'Bubbly and Bowties'. As it was Black Tie affair, the guests were dressed in their best of formal/cocktial wear.I made use of the fact that I was just back from the beaches in California with a lovely tan. Coming back to the evening. The venue, Counter Point was such a beautiful space. Loved the high ceilings, those exposed brick walls, and the lights across the ceiling. It just set the mood right for the biggest party of the year to begin. Vodka from Tito's Vodka and Champagne from Cooper's Hawk flowed freely as the guests mingled to celebrate 5 years of Kansas City Fashion Week.

The evening had two Fashion Presentations by Designer Ami Beck of Dolyn Bags and Keefe Cravat  showcasing men's neckwear. The leather detailing on each of the bags was so wonderful, that if I       could afford, I would have bought all the bags on display. And who knew, Kansas City had its own men's neck wear brand. from Ascots, to bowties, there was quite the spread.

When there's a step and repeat, its hard to resist the temptation and pose away to glory. KCFW director Teisha Barber was a vision in Grey. She was wearing Designer Alicia Janesko's Caftan from last season's KCFW finale. I had interviewed Alicia just before her finale and I remembered this Caftan well. Loved Katrhryn's black gown and pulled back hair. The mauvy lipstick and those perfect spring nails just sealed the deal.

Two of the warmest people whom I come across every season are two brilliant official photographers. Fashion Week experience would not be complete if I did not chat up with my friend and an amazing photographer Laura Noll of Market Mox

As the guests chatted up, the party rolled on, lovely appetizers from Shining Star Catering  was around.

In case the guests needed some touch up, the lovely ladies of Posh KC, were indulging the guests at their pop up hair bar.

It was a amazing party and set the perfect tone for the upcoming runway shows.
